got bored while watching tv. felt weird just sitting there not knitting or crochet. Since I don't really have any swaps to craft for... not counting the travel atc, and the new end of HP swap i'm in... nothing. So i thought i'd used up the left over yarn from the slippers from the Pick your partner feb swap to make a beanie.
well, should have left more yarn, cuz towards the end, i had to totally frog the original pair of the slipper to complete the beanie plus scourge up bits and ends of the yarn from left overs. I was really down to the wire with barely enough to finish the necessary last round to make the beanie not look like a yarmika.
used the Dralon yarn two strand held together and a No. 8 hook, but the No. 8 hook really seems more like 9 according to the knit-chek. same dc through out the whole thing... i think i'm beginning to do the dcs correctly now. no more only through the front or the back loop now. yay me!!
if i keep doing these crochet beanies, maybe i'll participate in the sweat shoppe swap... if i have another swap spot open in time. i'm kinda hoping not cuz it's harder for me to mail out packages here... but at the same time, i kinda wanta...
i just can't resist a swap!!
